Ali Tanha

Ali Tanha is the founding principal of Alit Design and an international architect and designer. His background and passion in industrial design have always been his inspiration in architecture. By the time he finished his first Master’s degree in Architecture in 2006 in Iran, he had executed multiple residential and retail projects and became project architect at KMCE*(1) in the same year. There, he further developed designing large scale commercial, recreational and sports facilities and created an extensive portfolio for his independent high-end residential projects. His work throughout years has led to multiple short-listed, finalist and winning designs in architectural competitions, including being short-listed as Appreciated Works in the international Za’Abeel Park’s emblem structure competition in Dubai, UAE, 2006.
Ali Tanha holds a second Master’s in Architecture from McGill University*(2) in Urban Design and Housing achieved in 2010, where he conducted a comprehensive study on energy efficiency in residential buildings, giving him a special insight in sustainability and alternative energy sources*(3). Entering Toronto’s housing design market in 2011, he acquired the expertise and local knowledge to resume his own design practice, founding Alit Design in 2015.
